Bunnies! | Falls Church Virginia family photographer

Two years ago we moved to this neighborhood and to be honest, I was pretty sad about it. I was leaving this great neighborhood that was so perfect in so many ways. The thing I hated to leave the most was my neighbors, we all got along and we got together all of the time, so fun! So here I was in this new neighborhood, but I hit the jackpot twice! I have another group of great neighbors that actually have even more kids the same ages as mine, so double score!

The “G” family is one of my favs and they found a bunny nest in their yard. Once they realized the bunnies were in danger, they brought them inside for a few days until they were ready to be on their own. So we went over and explored these little creatures. The kids were in awe, as was I.

Happy Smiles | Arlington VA family photographer

Beautiful weather, two beautiful sessions, dinner with good friends. This weekend was truly spectacular! I could not ask for a more beautiful Spring.
I spent this morning with an incredible family. I met this crew last year when the oldest son was in E’s class. The family is so laid back and so fun. I had high hopes for this session and my wishes came true. All three kids were as laid back and smiley as their parents. Thanks for hanging out with me today! Enjoy!

seasons | arlington va family photographer

Spring break is here, I cannot believe it. I always wondered what people without seasons felt during the year and now I kind of know. We didn’t get any snow this year except for that odd snow during Halloween. We had very few days in the freezing range…so it was a strange “winter”. However, I still relish in the Spring weather. Going on walks and seeing the blooms emerging, having the time change back to longer days, creating my Spring/Summer playlist filled with Dave Matthews, Big Head Todd and a little Buena Vista Social Club and even doing yard work. So I suppose those that live in season-less areas are just as excited for new seasons as a change in time, a mini-sense of “renewing”? If you live in one of these areas, you will have to tell me. I am thinking that Virginia is slowing becoming one of those areas due to the overall changes in climate. I grew up in a ski resort, so I had seasons in the truest sense. I can’t say I miss the extremes, but it was an incredible place to grow up.
This family could not be more laid back and just so nice. They actually reminded me a lot of my Colorado roots, I have no idea if they are from there, but they would fit in well (well, maybe not baby “C” :) They were referred by one of my favorite families, so I had a feeling I would adore this family as well. Thanks for helping me enjoy this beautiful weekend and letting me photograph your sweet little guys. Enjoy!

Navigating…. | Northern Virginia Photographer

When you become a parent, you then realize you will do anything for your children. Sometimes you are given news about your kids that is confusing and completely throws you for a loop. I have several friends that have gotten this type of news, whether it be “your child has ADHD” or “your child has sensory challenges” or “You should take your child to an OT” a what? Yes, that was my reaction when I was told my daughter would benefit from an OT, no clue what OT even stood for. So what do you do when you receive this kind of news, especially when you have no idea what the “diagnosis” even means? You find someone like Katherine Price with ADHDC, she is a guide, will hold your hand and find you all the right people to get you through this.
Katherine is intelligent, warm, friendly and one of those people that most are simply drawn to. I am guessing she has a handful of BFFs. I can’t think of a better person to call when you receive news about your child. Whatever the diagnosis or suggestion might be, from sensory to autism to learning, Katherine can help!

irish love | northern va family photographer

Its so easy to get bogged down in life and just go through the motions. Sometimes life has to throw you a curve ball to remind you that you have some pretty amazing people in your life. In general, people are good. Sometimes its even the people that you least expect that step up and make a bad situation bearable. So thank you to all of my wonderful people who have helped me catch this curve ball and has helped me to keep goin’……

This family was a joy to spend St Patrick’s morning with. Full of smiles, and Irish jig and lots of laughter! Enjoy!
