I am shocked and overwhelmed with emotion that my little girl turned 4 last week. My baby, my first born ….wowzers. It does go by so fast. I want to capture every moment, every second with my camera…but life doesn’t allow that. So E and I went out on a little “date”. This is the first time she was actually excited to have her picture taken, she actually cooperated! I didn’t think this day would ever come, as she is stubborn! She has grown up so much these last few months. She is such an amazing little girl. So inquisitive, so funny and so incredibly loving. Her manners astound me, lets hope they stick!

It is so good to be back! I returned from my “maternity leave” a little early, as I have a difficult time turning down newborns and maternity clients. They both are time sensitive and so much fun to photograph. I had the pleasure of doing both this past week! I have a lot to catch up on, my first is cleaning up the blog comments. Let me tell you what happens when you ignore your blog for a few weeks…1800 comments, probably 1700 are SPAM, but I have to delete them one by one! No Fun!!! Won’t do that again!
This beautiful expectant mama was so much fun to photograph, you can tell she is just loving being pregnant and I am certain will love being a mama! I am already looking forward to seeing them in the next few weeks to capture their little guy’s first few days of life! Enjoy the sneak peek and the last few weeks of this incredible time!!

My last session before my maternity leave and I had the pleasure of photographing the “G” family again! This little man is a dream and has his parents wrapped around his finger already. They adore his every move, sound…and do you blame them? Baby “p” was a dream during our session. I look forward to capturing more of this little guy as he grows up!!!
As I take a few weeks off to have my own little newborn, I will be booking my Fall sessions! Feel free to email me and unless I am in labor, I should respond in a reasonable amount of time! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Yes, wishes do come true. One of my wishes as a photographer is to have a mom let me dress their daughter and just have a playdate with her. Well, that wish came in the form of Ms. Chloe. My faithful followers have seen this future starlet on my blog before and this time is no different from the past….so darn cute! When I started scheduling this session with mom, I knew the odds were good that we would have a fantastic session and I was right! The stars continued to align, as just before the session I met the fabulous, Ashley from Matilda Jane Clothes who introduced me to some of the cutest children’s clothing I have ever seen! Matilda Jane focuses on clothes for little girls, has some to-die-for pieces for women, with a few unique items for the little men in our lives! Yum! So I had the clothes, the location and beautiful Chloe!!! Chloe is such a hoot to photograph and just to be around! The parents drove all the way out to Fredricksburg at my request and Ms. Chloe gave me her all in 95 degree heat! Thank you cute family and cute Chloe and cute Matilda Jane! Enjoy your sneak peek!

My last session this weekend was capturing these twins exploring, playing and just being wild. What cuties E and R were. We went to a favorite park that was packed with drum circles, yoga/body benders and the smell of patchouli everywhere…I must say, it took me back to my college days in Boulder Colorado. There was plenty for these two to look at and if only I was a videographer, because these little guys loved to dance to the drums! so cute! Enjoy, the rest to follow soon!

I suppose when you run your own business and are the only employee, you need to come with your own goals. One of the silly things I do is run little competitions with myself. Just now I heard myself saying in my head “Okay, I can finish this blog post before I leave for my next shoot” Tick Tock, the clock gets louder and louder in my head…its still ticking with one minute to spare. The problem with this “technique” is that I have to be careful that I don’t rush or let my images suffer. I seriously need help….
I was able to spend yesterday afternoon with the “M” family. Seriously, round 2 and yet another stunning family. We had some challenges in finding our location, the details will be kept among us! Little “E” was in love with the camera and the camera loved her right back. Thank you “M” family for spending your afternoon with me, enjoy your sneak peek!

I have had one crazy weekend! I was able to start it out by spending the morning with the beautiful and kind “P” family. I have been speaking with this mom for almost 2 years and we finally met yesterday! What a kind and beautiful family! The kids are polite, inquisitive and full of joy. The parents are simply stunning and very warm. Thank you for making my Saturday morning so enjoyable! Our goal was to put the focus on baby girl “S” to celebrate her first birthday, what a beatiful little girl! Here is your sneak peek…enjoy!

I spent the morning photographing one of my favorite clients, my little man Benj! Not always the easiest to capture, but my very biased opinion, is certainly the cutest! We explored an old train car, threw rocks and just laughed and laughed! Now imagine, a very pregnant woman balancing on train tracks , climbing a train car in a maxi dress…..luckily, that won’t be an image anyone has to physically see, however I am sure I scarred the cyclists and runners passing us on the trail!

Benj had a great time, but thought every cyclist was “Dada”. The photos capture the different facets of his fun personality and if you know him, you will love the one of him hiding in the bushes. That is where he went to enjoy his reward, his first fudgecicle! Thank goodness for oxi-clean!

I just returned from my beach vacation and feel oh so relaxed! It was a true vacation in that I didn’t even unpack my camera! Luckily, we had some family photos taken by another photographer, so at least we will have some documentation of our trip! I felt so guilty not capturing my own kids in the sun, surf and sand, but I think we all needed a break from the camera
We had a great time and its good to be back. I have many sessions to edit, promotions to post and a booked next few months…my oh my!
I met this beautiful mama after she booked me to take her engagement photos. It was so fun seeing just how a camera can love someone. I was delighted to find out that the honeymoon treated her well and she was pregnant! Taking her maternity photos was a must, I just knew they would be so much fun! I cannot wait to meet the baby in a few weeks! Here’s to a “comfortable” next few weeks and a blissful birth….

I have to remind myself to stop and smell the flowers. When I am stressed over babysitters being late, getting ready for a trip or just general backlog, I tell myself that I need to stop…and smell the flowers. Its just not worth getting in a tizzy. This family helped me do that this morning. I was brimming with stress and one look at this adorable family brought me down and back to center. Could they be anymore photogenic? Enjoy, rest will follow soon!!!
