I truly adore this family and am honored to have the chance to capture their happiness. My friends, my neighbors..they make my life fuller. Enjoy!!
Harper Lou, You turned three almost 3 months ago and I finally found the type of session I wanted to photograph to document this age. You walked into my office holding this hat and guitar (really a lukalele, but who cares..its your GEE-tar). You are such a pistol…all girl with lots of spice. You love your princesses and beautiful things, but you are not afraid to state your opinion (please never lose that). You have a word that you are finally starting to phase out, but I never want to forget “Ta-wa-da-we”. None of us can figure out what it means and you use it in every possible context. Sometimes you are “So Tawadawe” why other days you can’t find your “tawadawe” and sometimes you feel better when you scream “Tawadawe!!”
You now give out kisses, still with hesitancy but at least I get one every few days. My favorite is your when you tell me “I love you so much” usually this comes after you told me you don’t like me and to please go away, but that’s okay…I adore your honesty. You love your brother and sister and hug them unadbashedly. I love our time together, you love to shop, be pushed on a swing and you declared the day we took these photos as “The best day ever”.
Love you Lou Lou
We all say it when it arrives.. “I can’t believe August is here!” Well it is and as much as it pains me to think school and cold weather is right around the corner, I have a list to accomplish and I WILL get it all done.
The first on the list is stop neglecting my blog, so here is my sweet #2, Benji. He took to loving his tricycle all of a sudden and when I saw him grabbing lion and taking him for a ride, I had to capture it. Benji is truly the happiest kid I have ever encountered. Its not that he doesn’t have his “moods”, he is human afterall. What he does have is this power to will himself happy. He looks at the smallest even and declares it the “Best Ever” He is my joy and lately a huge source of my inspiration. I am so glad we had this little session because the next morning I ran over that trike as it was parked behind my car as I left for a 7am shoot. Boo Hoo.
Next on my list:
To set up an area for the kids daily “stuff”. Kindergarten last year showed me my shortcomings so I am ready for two in elementary school this year!
Clean out my spice cabinet…I know at least half are pushing 10 years. Kind of gross.
Get back on the “Eat Clean” 99% of the time rather than the 75% as I have been doing since ending my paleo challenge in May.
Set up my series of shoots titled “inspired” This one of Benji was just that, I was inspired. He was doing something on his own, being himself, the light was perfect and therefore I have images I ADORE.
Oh blog of mine, I have neglected you…but honestly, I have been enjoying this summer with my kiddos so I don’t feel that bad
Benji = happiness, that’s it. This boy is pure joy and I hope only intensifies. I think this kite put him over the edge. He loved it. He fell in love with the beach this summer and now loves his kite. Once his daddy put it together right (mommy fail) it soared and soared! I love you Benji…keep that joy!
There once was a little boy who simply stole the heart of his mommy. When she was finding out she was having a boy, she wasn’t sure what to think since she came from a family of girls. When he arrived there was a lot of fear attached of the unknown for this mom. At about 2 years old, she was smitten. His love of life, people, animals, comic books, and the color purple make her smile everyday. His need for a hug and a kiss all day long keep her going through this crazy life,
He is full of joy, wonderment….
the best part is that he loves his mommy.
